“with the painting I want to express the essence through the absence, I want to paint the invisivble, the mystic within us.”

With a strictly  personal sensitivity, the artist motivates in the color the very reason of her painting. For Stefania there is a bond between the spiritual world and the artwork, so the color becomes the tool with which merge in a very private location in contemplation of herself. Color is the key, the soul stands is the piano with many strings  that are made to vibrate by the painter by means of the pictorial gesture, arousing  emotions. Thus for Stefania Nesi the colors on her canvas are the expressions of her interior emotions, since her glance is constantly addressed to the subjective dimension rather tahn the objective, in the search for a more genuine psychological introspection which adheres to her own inner  need. The trend to antinaturalism and abstraction, deeply evident in her artwork ,trough the pictorical process exactly expresses the inner need to convey an interior life released from the contingencies of everyday life, from intellectualism and from the snares of conceptuality, to sink, insted, directly one's roots in “Life”. The creation of the artwork is therefore released from any external data and from the imitation of any natural image, since  peculiar for that  genesis is instead the inner spirit of the artist and her emotional feelings. The figures that are sometimes seen, heven't been drawed, but seem to come out from the picture as if by magic, as for Stefania even the material form becomes pure emotion, since she reveals step by step with lines and colors the object while it is taking place in her  imagination, to give to the observer's eye  the task to interpretate  and decode it. In the artwork  the objective element is not important, it is instead determining the birth of shapes and colors arousing from an intimate inner impulse.

The artist is coerently and constantly looking for an inner perspective, with a special regard to the  Sinlge-color (Monocromi) works, in which we can find a tend of Stefania toward  Suprematiste tendencies and in which the only inspiring element seems to be the “True Sensitiviy” detached from  any relationship with the external data. In conclusion the painter has neither  looked at the reality, nor taken inspiration from the world around her, but has found within herself  the reasons for her works and her painting and as she states “with the painting I want to express the essence through the absence, I want to paint the invisivble, the mystic within us.”

Everybody has its own personal superstructure more or less consciously elaborated, wich, by means of self reasoning silently draws each one of us away from our most genuine and carefree nature.

The fluctuations of our moods in this process and theyr interpretation through painting  are the themes addressed in the works, where the blank canvas becomes a mean in the search for a more authentic self.

The painting process becomes a transformation, that starting from these premises is carried out with and through the colors, a search for light and harmony within the pictorial form.

The call is to live as much as possible in harmony with oneself and one's own heart, and if that

is not possible, to find an amplifier to one's emotions.
